Costas2008 - this one is for you!

Colombia suffered a major blow just before the World Cup with injuries to key players including Luis Perea, Radamel Falcao, Edwin Valencia and Aldo Ramirez, whilst the ever infuential Freddy Guarin is suspended.

Greece, who have never progressed past the group stages, have been beaten in the opening games of the last two world cups, so they will be wanting to avoid an unwanted hat-trick this time round.

Costas2008 - as the pin-up boy for Greek Thaivisa members everywhere, give us your score predictions below.

I can see this being a frustrating goalless draw, let's hope I'm proved wrong!

We have a reasonable good team.

Not that I expect, that we will progress to the final stages.........but, one can only hope.

Also, believe that we will qualify in this group, the other team being Japan.

Football, is so unpredictable, but I will try to make a prediction and say. 2-1 to Greece.

Unfortunately, from past experience with the Greek team, is how much money, they have been promised, from the Greek Football Federation.

Anyway.....if I don't have a heart attack tonight, watching the match.........I will live for a long time.

Sorry Costas, I wish your team well but I think Colombia will win tonight.

Not only that but I actually think they could be one of the surprise teams of the tournament. Don't be surprised to see them in the quarter finals

It's interesting to see that the Ethniki are rated by bookmakers as comfortably the worst team in the group, with Colombia best, Ivory Coast second and Japan third.

I think they'll do well to get a point tonight, as Colombia are highly rated by the pundits, are playing next to home, and the Greek line-up is mediocre, with their best player (Mitroglou) having endured a barren 2014 at Fulham.

It would be great for the country if they could achieve something, but rationally I expect Colombia 1 Greece 0.

Costas ... I thought your defence would have held firmer ... I had $2 on the game score being less then 2 21/2 goals.

Greek Defence ... facepalm.gif

After, Ivory Coast beating Japan 2-1, I think you are the most sensible.

Greece, was useless, against a NOT so good team.

They didn't take their chances as David said and they haven't got any good strikers and their defence proved inadequate.

After last nights game, I agree with you.

Any truth in the rumour that Costas will be called into the team as a late replacement for the next match?

Yes, as long as, they deliver my zimmer frame, early.

Costas, I can't believe they played so bad against a mediocre team that was Colombia last night.

And why was Samaras in Karagounis' role?! And where was Mitroglou from the start? Did the papers ridicule Santos?

edit: the midfield is where the game is won or lost...and the midfield last night was an eyesore.
