The horror... the horror.

If your computer is running Microsoft Windows 7 (OS: Operating System), then visiting the Microsoft links I provided would lead you to how to reset the language on a Windows 7 install.

Many recent Operating Systems will allow you to set/switch the Language used in the Menus and Dialog boxes.

Applications/programs will either use the Language as set in the Operating System, or set it at time of install.

In the case of Microsoft WordPad, it follows the Language set in the menu of the Operating System.

In short:

Windows START menu -> Control Panel ->

any one of the following (they all go the the same place)

  • Lock, Language, and Region: Change Display Language -- Display Language
  • Lock, Language, and Region -> Region and Language -> (tab) Keyboards and Languages -- Display Language
  • Region and Languages -> (tab) Keyboards and Languages -- Display Languages

Once the Region and Language dialog is displayed, (1) see if ENGLISH is available as a choice, if not, (2) use the Install/Uninstall Languages... button to add it.

After you have selected to change the Language, restart the computer for it to take full effect.

If the above doesn't work for you then you will need to have the Windows Operating System re-installed and set to use English in an English Speaking Region.
