Connecting to a network printer from Apple mac laptop. Help

Featured Replies

At my work place there are 2 of us that have Macbook pro's and we cannot connect to the network printer. All other users have the standard 'Windows NT' laptops / workstations and they can all connect to the printer.

Im having to carry my laptop to the printer and plugging in a USB port to print documents.

The thai techie I.T guy cannot solve the problem. Can you give step by step guidance. It is my opinion that there are solutions to ALL problems in life. I have confidence that a farang can solve this problem for me.

many thanks

Have you tried to google the issue? "Connect macbook to [printer name/model] network printer"

It also would help if you gave the OS version of the macbook, the printer(s) make and model, and what drivers/apps you've downloaded.

Does the manufacturer of the printer supply a driver for your laptop? If so have you downloaded and installed it?

When I bought my Win 8 laptop I had to buy a new printer. There were no drivers past Win 7 for it and I hunted and hunted. Dang nice 4-1 printer too.

Does your workplace use Microsoft Server? If so can you connect to that, and is the printer shared through that?

When you hit "print," do you see the printer and can't print, or is the printer missing?
