zeekgarcia
Does anyone have any good or bad experience with any Pediatric Cardiologist anywhere in Thailand or near by? A friend can use any information that you have for their child. Feel free to PM if you do not want to post something public. Any information that you give will be a great help! Sheryl
Please specify the nature of the problem as it makes a difference. especially in terms of whether a cardiac surgeon is needed or just a cardiologist - not the same thing.
zeekgarcia
They have been told several years ago that their child has Wolff Parkinson White syndrome WPW and their child seems to be having more frequent occurrences and they want to get them checked out again. They are near Chiang Mai but they want to have different recommendations of Cardiologists that sees kids in case they feel like they need to get a second or third opinion. Sheryl
This doctor, US trained, is a pediatric cardiologiost with considerable experience in treating WPW syndrome in children https://www.bangkokhospital.com/EN/doctors/index.php?DrID=432 She can also be accessed through Siriraj Hospital where she is on facultyhttp://www.siphhospital.com/en/index.html She was one of the very first to do RF ablation procedures on children in Thailand. This is one of her research articles on the subject http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11215864 And here is a longer list of her publications http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed?term=Soongswang%20J[Author]&cauthor=true&cauthor_uid=11215864 I don't think you will find anyone more qualified. There is also a US trained pedatric cardiologist at CMU and CM Ram but he is about 70 now so I'm not sure how up to date. Some younger ones at CMU also but not with quite Dr. Soongswang's qualifications and experience.

Is one noticeable more expensive than the other? 3. Does one have any greater benefits than the other? thanks
Sheryl
Both hospitals are fine. Siriraj will likely be a little less expensive... perhaps by as much as 25 pct provided u don't get suckered into paying for a top end room. Cheapest private room is more than fine. What do you or anyone else know about Thonburi Hospital compared to these other hospitals in cost, care, etc?
Sheryl
Thonburi Hosp is a smaller private hospital. Some of the professors at Siriraj have private hours there. Less extensive in terms of facilities/equipment than either Bkk Hosp or Siriraj - no problem for things that aren't highly specialized but for something that is, would not be my choice Cost-wise: less than Bkk Hosp, probably abut the same as Siriraj's private hosp.
