2.5" 2Tb backup disks

I went to my local shop to buy an extra 1Tb backup disk

and came away with a 2Tb

Seagate Backup Plus

2Tb, USB 3.0 2.5" format

the size of an i-phone, only 1 cm thick and runs very cool

The price was exactly twice the 1Tb offering

They just keep packing more GBs into same spaces, be it spinning platter drives or solid state drives. And the prices keep coming down (even in Thailand).

Very neat and great transfer speeds.

Amazing how much storage on they can put on a small disk these days.

About $148 at invadeIT, 2tb, USB 3.0. They've also got a wireless one for more than half again as much money. No, I don't work for them, just a happy customer.

I bought a Seagate Wireless 1TB in Phantip (Bangkok) about two months ago. Nice little drive. They are readily available in Bangkok but hard to find in Tokyo. Must be some import issue.

2.5" 2 TB is 4350B at J.I.B. in Tukcom Pattaya.

3.5" is clunky and needs seperate power but it is slightly faster. Also hard to misplace.

I've been using one for about 6 months now....bought it for around Bt2,400....one of the fastest external 2.5" spinning platter drives on the market according to numerous reviews.

I'm using the 2TB versions. I have 3 of them now. Only a tad over $100 at amazon.
