happynthailand Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 just came back from Mukdahan Immigration Office for Retirement Extension had to sign 2 forms stating that I am a were of the new over stay rules, that are now law also just before leaving the office, had to show on Google map of Mukdahan where my house was on the map, she then placed a marker on my home with my name and visa number well good for one more year Happy
Crossy Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Moved to Visas for more exposure. Expect other offices to start something similar. "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
96tehtarp Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Thanks for your report. A positive side of this coming change in overstay policy is they informed you properly of a change in rules. That's nice of them. Don't fret it having them record your address on Google maps. When I did my first extension based on marriage I had to give them a map, and photos. Then a few days later the immigration police came to my house, (4 of them), had a look around, took a video of me and my wife at the house and interviewed one of my neighbors and took a sworn written statement from him and copies of his papers as well. That was well before this latest coup. I give top marks to immigration for for disseminating the information efficiently.
