Most old Tires are put on Farm Stuff, not chucked away.

I used to use Maxis on my bikes before I stopped riding they were good but didn't last as long as Pirelli.

265/70R16 is a common pickup tyre size in LOS. The standard name brands like Bridgestone Dueler, Yokohama Geolandar etc are usually priced from around 5000 baht up. These are general purpose highway tyres. There are some cheaper brands around like Maxxis that are also OK. More specialised (off road) tyres etc will be more unless in a cheaper brand.

4WD Tyres are the ones I'm talking about. Nissan Patrol and Isuzu D max. 265--255\70\16 10ply.

And those Maxxis etc. Didn't hang on or controlled slide, like the Pirelli's when deep in the corners, Drifting. Either.

Just wanted to add.

The reason why we changed the tires on dad's car was that I found a 12 inch long crack on the inside wall. Found this out when I decided to get them rotated and inspected at B-Quick. I would have never noticed this danger had I not brought it in for a rotation.

I think the crack happened when he drove it flat, due to a nail.

Inspect it, eye ball it and then use your best judgement.

Sure did. All this after the fact. I told my dad about the crack... he said "I had a flat once and drove it to a gas station to get it filled."

Not sure how far or how fast he drove, but definetly destroyed the tire.

Good follow up inspection by the station BTW..

Shoulda, woulda coulda..mileage for tires is merely an estimate (and for warranty purposes) and has no true bearing on when they should be replaced as there are many factors that the manufacturer doesn't know.

1) if the vehicle garaged or kept outside

2) parked on dirt, asphalt, concrete

3) regular weather conditions

4) your driving habits, abuse, speeds

Look yourself. Are there bald spots? Uneven wear? Dry-rot?

Are you experiencing other issues?

pulling to one side, hydroplaning etc...

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah..............

My Mitsubishi Pajero has done nearly 115000 and still has 1 original tyre with 5mm tread of the other 3 1 failed at 95000 with a blow out with 6mm tread and the other 2 were replaced at 105000 with 5mm tread but had deformmed and no longer round, these were all Michelin, I have replaced with Bridgestone as they were a better price, 5000 each rather than 8500, I don't care if they wear out quicker as they grip far better and are much quieter.
