BANGKOK, 9 July 2014, (NNT) - Tesco-Lotus, which is well known in Thailand for its chain of hypermarkets, has announced that it will support exports of the nation’s fruit and vegetables, after it successfully exported canned food and animal food to its more than 6,500 branches across the United Kingdom, the Central European Union and elsewhere in Asia.

The comment was made by Miss Salilla Seehaphan, Vice Chairman of the Company’s Affairs Division of the Akekachai Distribution System Co. Ltd., the supervising company of the Tesco-Lotus hypermarket franchise in Thailand. She is confident that Tesco’s exports will expand at least 15% this year, reporting that the value of last year’s exports was 3.2 billion baht

Miss Salilla stated Tesco-Lotus had contributed tremendously to the kingdom’s economic development, adding that the company had exported various items such as seasonal fruit, seafood, canned food, animal food, toys and stationary to its affiliated stores in 12 nations around the globe.

Well I would hardly consider Tesco to be a bastion of ethics after seeing more than a few documentaries in the UK on some of the dreadful practices it has got up to in the past as well as using unethical suppliers. Not to mention the way they hoodwink and defraud its customers across a huge range of products including knowingly labelling meat as British when it comes from central European suppliers.

They have been caught out so many times it's untrue, which is why I boycott them both in the UK and here.

Miss Salilla Seehaphan should know that in Klong 4 Lamluka at Tesco Express opposite Moo Ban Ucharoen 2 ,

customers are offered Grade F fruits and vegetables at the price other people get good ones in any other

Tesco-Lotus stores.

Very often fruits and vegetables are rotten and I am sick and tired of having to spend more money

to go back to the store and have the products changed. This has been going on for the past couple of years.

I could stop going to this Tesco-Lotus at once but out here there aren't many other options.

The Tesco-Lotus management must think we are a third class customers unworthy of buying good products sad.png

It is so clear that we get fruits and vegetables that are not longer good enough to be sold in other stores so they

get to be sent here. bah.gif

Is there a quality control manager? If he is, what the hell is he doing? Is he following instructions given

or he messes up all by himself???

Good show, i think all foreign companies should do business using Thai products. Enough demand and the Chinese junk will disappear from the market.

Yeah Tesco. Perishibles are often spoiled. Not only fruits but bakery, pre-prepared meals, coldcuts. The last time I brought something back they actually asked "so what do you want."
