240 posts Jesse,

Can we get this show moving a bit quicker, how bout a few pictures of the remotes, the hole in the roof or the new man hole cover. This is gonna set tvf on fire.

We expect daily updates Jesse, hows the project coming along and what strategies have you put into place to prevent future viewers of the property from theiving from you?

What about if the original thief wants to have a second viewing? tongue.png

I found a nice cover yesterday at a shop for aircon parts supply. It's a tad small at 50 x 50 , but I guess it gonna work out.

A second viewing will be considerd under escort

Reach the box once ? So having created the problem, you are going to repeat it ? Geez

What happens if you have to get to it again ? You are going to be exactly where you are now. Move the box to a more accesible place or make the cureent position more accessible.

I have not created a problem, the remotes were nicked, I think that has became obvious enough when I called the guy and from other things.

I have to make it more accessible that is what I'm asking about now.

My intention is to make a manhole under it, but I will need to close it and eventually be able to open it again in the future, without it being an eyesore. The way the ceiling guys her close such a manhole with a aluminum frame in which a piece of gypsum lays that can be lifted is not acceptable in a location that is always in open view.

Moving the box would mean extending all the cables and would involve an electrician. Since the original electrician is not available anymore and I have no idea what other cables are in that box, that is a big no no.

There is a simple solution. Cut a rectangular crawl hole. Use framing lumber to make a strong box above it. Then use window/door trim to trim it. Leave that trim rectangle small enough that it makes a lip to support a piece of plywood. Cut the plywood big enough that it can't fall through unless you raise it, tip it, and lower it on edge. Paint it all and set the plywood in place. (I also sometimes use a piece of sheetrock/drywall.)

The handle isn't needed, nor is the detail trim unless you want it. You can actually just push up from below, grab the edges, lift and turn, and lower it out.

Thanks for the advice, but that's some work for a craftsman, not guy with two left hands.

I was able to purchase something like below in size 50 x 50 and at 190 Baht. It holds with 6 sunken screws and looks like an exhaust fan is above.

Its just plain silly to think a farang has a fetish for your remotes...have you been a good boy lately?

Of course, farangs dont have any fetishes, do they?

(How insulting could one be even to dream so, let alone have a thread)

I hear on good authority that there is a bar in Soi Buakow that does something with remotes

Pay per view I expect?

Repeats or first time screening ?

What possessed you to let someone walk around your house who you didn't know, or have an address for?

I have his address and contact details, but accusing him not gonna help isn't it ?

The remotes are so small that you can hold them in your handpalm without anyone noticing, so easily picked up when I turn my back.

Sutop ,

you must be mentally ill , to read this topic ,

Don't think there's much first time screening available in Soi Buakow

Every time I see Jesse post on this thread, I just have to look.

Awaiting the fireworks when the remotes 'mysteriously' reappear :)

With my years of examining and investigating terrorist type events, I am analysing the way you seem to pop in and out of this thread (pretending to moderate) when I know you are someone with the necessary skills and qualifications to remotely (pardon the pun) take control of Jesse's remotes and make them leave premises, with your motive to create more 'traffic' for the tvf forum.

You are now being monitored Mr Crossy, I place you on notice & please open your curtains and blinds my DRONE is having difficulty trying to surveil you thru the window. :P

Jesse, can we please see photos of the replacement remotes, I am preparing search warrants for Crossy's place and the judge wants to know what 3000 baht remotes look like.

regards

nd.

  • 2 weeks later...

I didn't bother to update a few days ago when I replaced the receiver above the ceiling, but i considered it my duty to update after some new facts were added to the story.

So on Wednesday I cut a hole in the ceiling, replaced the receiver, and closed it again with the fan cover I purchased earlier.

Quite an impressive job for someone with two left hands you will know.

Anyway, the cover is a little out of line, but not really an eyesore, and the remote is working flawless now.

So today I had to change the bedsheets. Not an unusual job but great was my surprise when I proceeded.

When I removed the mattress to pull over the new sheets I was shocked and at the same time ashamed at what I saw.

Can you imagine what was under the mattress ? facepalm.giffacepalm.gif

You need to change your bed sheets more often - too funny Jesse - I will give you 2 stars for admitting it!!

This is the bit I don't understand. Surely you were with the fellow as he looked around the house. I know you said they were small remotes but didn't it register when he DIDN'T hand them back to you?

Sent from my XT1032 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

So you did not shake hands when he left.

I don't have any problem with admitting what I discovered, after all it wasn't me who put it there.

Oh oh....now 20 pages of ...."Yes, you must have put them there absent mindedly..." "No, I didn't....", "Why would he...how did he..." and so on.

I recall my original stance was the absent minded one......so guess what I say now?

Why do you think i put that under the mattress ?

to prevent prospective homebuyers from stealing them??

I don't see why they would steal a broken item.

I've had this discussion with my mum recently. She lives by herself, recently widowed, and does forget things. Recently she "lost" a document, searched high and low for it, but concluded someone must have taken it or moved it (exactly who, she wouldn't say). Weeks later, on a different search mission, she came across the document "in a box that I would never have put it in".

A member of this forum recently went away for a few weeks. Before he went, he hid the keys to something. Upon his return, he could not find them anywhere, and finally called the locksmith.....only to stumble upon them by accident just as the locksmith was about to come.

A friend of mine found his car keys in the fridge. Not drunk when he put them there, but he does not remember putting them there.

I hid some money in a book. Forgot about it.....months later recalled that I had some money and had hidden it....couldn't remember where. Years later, opened the book to a very pleasant suprise.

Did the prospective buyer ever go to the bedroom alone?

Do you ever sleepwalk?

Did you go for a nap just after the buyer left?

Kudos to you for backtracking on your original "mentally ill guy" stance.

So, the bed guys came in after the buyer?, and put sheets on the bed?

I don't know when exactly it happened, I didn't see the bed guys, but I just noticed it today. Couldn't believe my eyes.
