Can i get a thai drivers license with an expired U.S. license?

I am from the U.S. I've been here for a few years now. My driver's license back in the U.S. has expired. Can I get a Thai driver's license even if my driver's license from the U.S. is no longer valid? And no I don't have a International License. How can I get a International License?

Wiht an expired license you can not get an IDP. And with an expired license you also should not be able to get a Thai license without doing the tests. But who knows, you might get it anyway.

From my experience (mind you this was 20 years ago) I was not able to get a Thai license by showing my then recently expired home license. I had to do the tests with all of the other learner drivers!! I would guess that this has not changed.
