webfact
Prajin not certain whether Yingluck can leave kingdomBANGKOK: -- Deputy junta chief ACM Prajin Juntong said Friday that he is now not certain whether former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra can leave the kingdom after the anti-graft agency decided to charge her in court. He said the National Council for Peace and Order still retained its approval for Yingluck to leave the kingdom but the final decision will depend on the court's decision now that she is facing a criminal charge related to the rice-pledging scheme.Source: http://www.nationmultimedia.com/breakingnews/Prajin-not-certain-whether-Yingluck-can-leave-king-30238832.html-- The Nation 2014-07-
Popular Post zaphod reborn
This happens so frequently in Thailand, because proper procedures have never been established. The NACC has essentially recommended that the prosecutor's office bring criminal charges against Yingluck for malfeasance in the rice scheme. However, until those charges are brought, and Yingluck is arraigned by the criminal court, she is not under the court's jurisdiction. Once she enters a plea to the criminal charges, and, wants to be released (OR), the court imposes the conditions of bail, which could mean a prohibition against leaving the country. Such a simple procedure, yet, so mucked up by the well-intentioned legislators who set up the NACC. They never considered the fact that the prosecutor has discretion to bring charges and that the process could take several months, depending on . . . politics. Regrettably, in this case, until the prosecutor makes a decision to bring charges, I think it would be unfair to withdraw the approval for Yingluck to leave the country with her son.

webfact
NCPO deputy says Yingluck’s travel permission uncertainBANGKOK: -- The deputy head of National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) says he is uncertain if the former prime minister will be allowed to leave the country after she was ruled guilty in the controversial rice-pledging scheme by the graft buster.Air Chief Marshal Prajin Juntong, deputy head of the NCPO, made the statement after he was asked for comment on the overseas travel sought by ex-Premier Yingluck Shinawatra after the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) ruled she was guilty of malfeasance in office and power abuses that incurred huge 500 billion baht damages to the country in the rice scheme. He made clear that the NCPO would not interfere in the judicial affairs as long as those who seek overseas travels abiding by the conditions laid down by the NCPO.He said the NCPO will monitor their movements to make sure they follow the guidelines set which intends to create unity and reconciliation. When pressed by a question of whether the NCPO will still stick to its permission for Ms Yingluck to go abroad, ACM Prajin said he was uncertain and would like to double check for more information. He said so far he learned of the permission from an interview given to the media by a spokesman Col Winthai Suwari who has outlined many conditions for travels.Asked whether the NCPO will coordinate with the NACC or the Office of the Attorney-General on the case, ACM Prajin reiterated that the NCPO will not interfere in their affairs. However, he maintained that if the justice system should come out with any condition, it has to be heeded. He said he still has no idea what action the Office of the Attorney General will take from now.He said the NCPO will still keep to its permission unless a travel ban is issued by the court. He said each deputy head of the NCPO is tasked with different area of work and he is not in charge of legal affairs so he is uncertain what the legal affairs will say.Source: http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/ncpo-deputy-says-yinglucks-travel-permission-uncertain/ -- Thai PBS 2014-07-

Popular Post lostsoul49
If she goes on Sunday, she can stay away for 10 years and come back free. Anyway, 200K she will spend inthe duty free lounge in a minute. I don't think she will need to worry about money outside of Thailand. i am sure she has at least 10 Bn in offshore accounts and that is at the very smallest. She is a major player in this scam and she will have made sure she has gotten her fair share.

There are a whole other set of conditions for Thai VIPs. With a few rectangular pieces of plastic and several passports (given to her by friendly little countries), she can live high on the hog. Meanwhile, you can bet Thaksin is mapping out plans to appoint his other sister (or his son) as next Thai PM.
