(CNN) -- UK police have arrested 660 suspected pedophiles -- including doctors, teachers and scout leaders -- in a six-month operation spanning the country, the National Crime Agency said Wednesday.

The operation -- which targeted people accessing indecent images of children online -- involved 45 police forces across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

More than 400 children across the United Kingdom have been protected from harm as a result, the National Crime Agency said in a statement.

Thirty-nine of the suspects were registered sex offenders, ....More

Total respect to all the officers involved. I recently watched a documentary about police officers involved in apprehending child predators and some talked openly about the emotional strain involved in dealing with the cases and reviewing evidence. 660 pedophiles equals countless thousands of young lives destroyed at the hands of the monsters. I hope they never see the light of day again to carry on their sickness with other innocents children.

Spot on. I have a friend who is chief of detectives for a medium sized city. He told me that he'd never had a detective who could last for more than 2 years in the child protective division. Those detectives wound up needing mental health help themselves, and a transfer to looking for thieves, etc. Apparently their two worst symptoms were nightmares and anger.

The perps are the scum of the earth.

About 20 years ago I was given an in-depth tour of a very large Police Force in the UK. It was a top level visit lasting a week and we had access to everywhere. When we came to the child protection department in terms of child pornography we were told what went on and then invited behind the locked doors to see the work the officers had to do. We were warned of what we would see. Out of 8 of us, we all refused and politely declined to observe this part of the work the police did, as we were under no illusions as to the horrors of what these police have to do. They have to catalogue every minute of a video and write a text description of what is happening to the child. I still have occasional flash backs to just one story we were told concerning the murder of a child by a pedophile gang.

These people, in particular the organizers and film makers need locking away for good.

You cant be in the child protection division for very long, especially the serious crime unit, you risk losing your sanity or worse losing your humanity, Either you switch off and become cold or go a little bit nuts, either is very bad. My cousin says he wouldnt touch it for double the pay and wouldnt put his family through the stress let alone himself, some of those he knows that have arn't the same after and often end up divorced because they get so emotional and it comes out in other ways at home... thats how bad it can affect these heroes that work on these cases... and make no mistake they are heroes for what they have to deal with.

When I was just a 14 year old lad i had the common sense to call in the met police while being chatted up on a train by a pedo by pretending to make a call home before accompanying the perp... police showed up in 2 mins took him to the top of the platform stairs at baker street stn from the platform and then making sure i was watching from below helped the guy slip and tumble all the way to the bottom. he wasnt in good shape by the time he landed... not at all, the 2 policemen strolled back down the stairs as if they had all the time in the world while the guy moaned and nursed what i realise now were rather serious injuries. One looked at me, smiled and winked then said "dont worry son we'll take him from here, he wont be doing anything for a while" That has stuck with me throughout my life seeing instant justice and have never even had a sweat on about it since. Im pretty sure if I hadnt seen what we used to call street justice id never know if he had got off with nothing or not... Im not saying the police were right on some levels but I am damned glad they gave me closure and some form of justice right there and then and i will never ever report it or forget what those 2 policemen did for a scared kid.

This is only the beginning, wait until some of the arrested start singing and shopping others for deals.

Expect this to go worldwide when info starts being shared on those that reside outside the UK

If it goes all the way it will very possibly shake more than one establishment to its very core.

1 was caught in my old neighbourhood. Actually the authorities knew about him. He was moved from Liverpool to Dewsbury by them. When he was finally arrested and denied bail. The prison guards had to appeal to the other prisoners to leave him alone. They needed him fit for his court appearance. Now the UK has "Sarah's Law".

So because a 14 yr old boy called the police, with no other evidence, the police pushed a man down a flight of stairs that would have risked killing him? Are you serious? Is this a 5.46 in the morning I've been out drinking all night story? Do you think that was justice? Hell why not just push him under a train without any legal proceedings whatsoever. Jeez, the world has gone mad I tell you. So you say you have been here nearly 20 years and you made the call at 14 on a train in the UK. Were you calling from a pay phone on the train? Did you move out here when you were 14? Because if you didnt then you didnt use a mobile on the train did you and there was no wireless payphones? I smell male bovine feces.

yea i was expecting a plonker without a brain to say something.

This would have been mm about 1979 Im sure you can do math, I know what happened you dont, things were dealt with very different then, especially perverts, the underground and buses were a favourite hunting ground for them back then and having seen pervs groping people ( mainly women ) and talking real dirty scumbag stuff to get a kick I knew exactly what was going on.

There were no mobiles then of course but there were/are train platform direct line to police emergency telephones.Just as there were/are dedicated full time london transport ( then met ) police, seeing as my old man was one of the met line bosses I knew exactly what to do (luckily) and how to use them. I was just doing what my old man had taught me to do if i got in problems on the train. , plus I grew up not far away and knew the place like the back of my hand, i happened to be on the way to a friends around 2 ish so it wasnt an all night drunk on the way home either he was 100% a perv .. they also have main LT police bases at Baker Street and Wembley Park so were only a stones throw away really adjacent to the booking office at the top of the stairs. Can you take a stab at why they had them on platforms and still do have panic buttons and intercomms now and man the stations or are you too dumb to work it out ?

If you got the wrong side of police yea often there was a slap or worse especially for perverts, they wernt very popular scumbags with anyone. Life in London in the 70/80s was tough, dangerous and you had to be on your toes and streetwise or youd most likely at some point become a victim. That wasnt about to happen to me.

At the time i couldnt have given a damn if the perv had broken his neck and still dont tbh. Far as most were concerned in those days pervs if caught deserved every bit of comeback they got, case closed. My attitude hasnt really changed towards them either other than to also lock them up for life without parole.

Where did you grow up, trumpton ?

I think the question was did this person do something to you other than talk to you? Did he touch you inappropriately? Did he proposition you? Did he try to coerce you into doing something?

I think we have a few husband/father's on this board who have been through the ordeal of being accused of sexually molesting their own children by ex-wives. Once tarred with that brush, even if it's false, can have a lasting affect.

A nice pay off for the Police involved, no charges made and a nice comfortable retirement is imminent.

They will be on the next flight to Asia practicing their fantasies at the expense of us tax payers.

As a tax payer I should be eligible to vote if we stone/stab/kick them to death or send them to prison.

Prison costs money...

Clearly this plonker does have a brain. You never said you used a train platform emergency phone( you used that pretending to call home?). You said you made a call while being chatted up on a train! Wrong!

I am not interested in your 'London Gangsta upbringing or how hard you think you are. I am interested in the fact that you think two policemen pushing someone down a flight of stairs on the strength of a phone call from a 14 year old is justice. They did that without even talking to you from your description of the event. God help us! I still smell male bovine feces.

I take is as your 'attitude' has never changed then it would have been ok when someone accused Matthew Kelly of child sex abuse that someone immediately pushed him down a flight of stairs and break his neck? Only to find out a week later that the accusations were all made up and he had never done a thing!! And you called me a plonker?

Im not going to give you the whole 9 yards in graphic detail step by step I know what happened and a pedo got what he deserved thats all that matters, If you used you brain youd have worked out as i have since he was probably well known to the cops as many pervs using the trains then were or theyd have not done what they did, cops wernt in the habit of throwing people down stairs even then unless there was some reason and ive probably forgotten some of the details and happily so ive no interest in recalling them for your pleasure to read. I also never mentioned gangsta upbringing I said i was scared but streetwise in london, thats all.

He had it coming 100% and I got appropriate closure for me, at that time. thats all i care about and I really dont care what you think or believe Mr pedo disbeliever.

PS your fantasy about kelly never happened either so its moot. coffee1.gif

Paedophilia is a mental illness, it's not a lifestyle choice. Most paedophiles don't want to be paedophiles anymore than you want them to be paedophiles.

A lot of people live with this condition their whole lives without seeking treatment or mental evaluation precisely because you have small-minded bigots throughout society (many of them in this forum) who are always spewing out their preferred draconian punishments about what they think should happen to paedophiles. Is it any wonder some of them suppress their urges online.

I take it you "express" their urges online. Otherwise what you wrote makes no sense.

Boohoo poor little Pedophiles have a mental illness. Poor little pedophiles. We should all feel so sorry for them.

When these vermin are expressing themselves online they are keeping the wheels of the pedo business smoothly running along

Mathew Kelly was arrested in 2003 and all charges were dropped later as they were fictitious.

I've never heard of paedofiles using the rail network to target victims. Seems a bit unlikely to me for all sorts of obvious reasons.

With absolutely no disrespect to you englishoak, any policeman that took the word of a 14 year old and carried out 'street justice' as described without being fully aware of the facts, needs dismissing.

As disgusting as these animals are, it still needs to be proven.

It would be much better for them to have an accident after they were charged and out on bail, as would likely happen.
