I think this year's Darwin award is pretty well safe with the guy in Bkk who used a cutting torch to slice up, for scrap metal, a live 2000 lb. bomb. Hard to imagine anybody snatching the award from that guy.

Baerboxer, I usually agree with you but, when you write that social engineering is an idea of the 'right', I have to strongly disagree. The National Socialists of 1930's Germany (key word 'socialists') were all about social engineering with their eugenics programs. It is the left that pushes for birth control in the schools and abortions (stop the riff raff from breeding). Communism (the extreme left) in China controls how many children one can have. The 'right' wants the government to stay out of people's lives (acting like they know better than us how to live our lives) and is against freely issued birth control and abortions.
