never a good thing but I done 1 day once due to flight isssues, technically no worries & will cost you 1000Bt for 2 days (1day - less than 24hrs is normally no charge & overlooked) & 10 minutes at the overstay counter.

Obviously if caught before leaving even a 1 day overstay could be serious hassle so do take it all into account when doing this sort of thing.

I have already extended 30 days on a 60 day visa and it's a long old wait! Can I just sort it out at the airport?

You still can get 7 days at Immigration. Don't overstay, the times are changing and its not wise to do so.

Are you going to ask the same question until you get a different answer ?

Another thread says the new rules don't apply until September, so wouldn't 2 days be 1000 baht at the airport? And the same thread gives the impression that the previous overstay when the September rules come into force are irrelevant.

Even with new rules 2 days is not a major big deal.

As said getting extension is wisest thing to do but not always what you want to do. Wouldn't bother me to overstay 2 days if I had to for special circumstances but even when It happened to me once for 1 day it was special circumstance with no warning not fact just too lazy get extension.

Do what ever you think works out best for you ...

I agree its not a big deal, but it will become a big deal if he gets stopped on the way to the airport and they check his passport.

But as you said, he has to do what ever he thinks is best for him.
