This is a photo of a 250 g frozen Top Round Steak from CMU Ag. School. It made three pretty nice sandwiches. Very good wrapping, and they thaw pretty fast.

Exactly where do you buy these steaks and do they have other beef products?

My Goodness--greetings to you Don--where are you these days?? Phuket/Samui?? Or are you considering joining us in Chiang mai??

I am "Steaked Out" in Chiang Rai living the good life. I was curious about the CMU steak as you can't buy a steak in Chiang Rai that is eatable. Basically at 81, I am retired on a 5 rai walled estate in the foothills of Doi Hang 7 km from Chiang rai City toward the national park. My wife has decided that she wants to open the Doi Hang Fishing Park here on Aug. 1. This means she will reopen the Longhorn Saloon and sell hot sandwiches on Fri., Sat. and Sun. I am going to be in charge of customer relations helping the Thai fishing ladies. Look for Merchant Of The Orient, my latest book. Has some great stories about Phuket and Thailand.

I try to come to Chiang Mai to go fishing with buddies at Bo Saeng. Fishing there is great. Contact me at [email protected].

Don, heading west on Suthep Rd,, from the moat...past all the medical facilities, past Nimman, cross Canal Rd., then 80m on the right you will see the CMU Steak Restaurant, take an immediate right after the restaurant, behind CMU Steak is the Ag School Store, they have honey, teas, some veggies, and a freezer section...about 5 different cuts...usually 200 or 250 gram packages. They close at 18:00, I believe. The steak has the darker, natural color, which generally means it wasn't bombarded with red coloring. No ground beef. Day fresh milk is 15 thb for 500 ml...

I would say they had about 15 KG total on display.....so might not be enough for a restaurant. I'll get you their number if you want it.....very limited English at the store.

I will definitely come by and look you up--and try your wife's [Moo Noi??] sandwiches--when next in Chiang Rai.

Ever hear from 'Taco Jim' these days? He was instrumental in helping set up Yoghurt production many years ago.

The book sounds interesting, also--I will seek it out.

I'm very sorry to hear that, Don--he was one in a million.

Sadly I had not been in touch for a few years--I think he was back in San Diego?

RIP, Jim Urdahl.
