Daffy D Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 A couple of times have found out quite by chance that the Dash Cam had actually stopped recording. The screen still showed a picture and it all seemed to be working but what I had not noticed was the little flashing dot, usually red, had stopped flashing or disappeared altogether. On most if not all Dash Cams there is a flashing dot to indicate that the camera is recording. It is worthwhile regularly checking that the dot is actually flashing. Easy to miss. If your camera does stop recording push the reset button and reformat the card. Best to reformat with the card in the camera from the setup menu. Also check you have the right type of card, should be something in the instructions about what card to use. Not all memory card are the same.
Morakot Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 reformat the card. Best to reformat with the card in the camera from the setup menu. Yes this should be done regularly. The device that uses the card should reformat it. Not all memory card are the same. This depends on the resolution of your camera. For full HD (from 720p) you need at least a Class 6. Anything above you need a class 10.
vtjforyou Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 32gb class 10 now cost 490 baht, so why buying class 6 ?

Daffy D Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 I carry a formatted spare incase of accident or malfunction. HTH Good idea In the event of an accident it's easy to get confused. Swapping out the card with the incident on it is an easy and reliable way to safe guard your 'evidence"
