I got a French passport  with only 3  empty pages left and want to apply for a studend Visa at Vientianne ? Do you think it will be ok ?

I will need 2 pages for visa stickers but I don't konw about various stamps. I am afraid they will need 2 pages also..

edit : maybe I could also apply my visa in Malysia. Considering we don't need a visa in this country, I would save one page..

Unfortunately , it's impossible to add pages on french passport.  I can make a new one at embassy but I think it will take a lot of times. ( I have to leave the country before 8 august)

Yes you get 90 days on arrival in Malaysia but be sure to confirm with the officer as I've (British citizen) been stamped in for 30 days before by mistake. They also have good postal services in my experience.

Of course you should make a copy of passport inc. entry stamps in the event you send/leave your passport with any passport office etc.

Besides the visa stickers the other stamps are all small and you may have room on other pages for them.

You could go to Malaysia for your visa but only Penang will do it if you are attending a language school. Kl only does them for university studies.

You should apply for a new passport as soon as your return from getting your visa.

Thank you.

But Just to confirm : I don't really have 3 full  pages left but just 3 recto...(and maybe 4 if immigration can use the "amendment" page for visa or stamp).

I do think it can be better to make the visa run in Malaysia considering I will save one recto over there.

But yes, it's not very safe.xsad.png.pagespeed.ic.5zxzyGiJz0.png

I will go to my school today and ask them.

Not sure what you mean by the number of pages you say you have. One page is a page with a number on it. Not verso/recto or recto/verso.

Immigration will not normally use amendment pages.

So I have 3 pages left. They told me at school that it will be ok for make my visa student at Ventianne but I will need to warn  immigraiton officers to make some stamps on previous pages.

I am more scare about a potential test about my thai language skills : it looks like they are more strict and severe about it now..

I was in the same position once and the immigration officer would not listen to me and he stamped into one of few blank pages! I was very @$%£# off.

Another time I had a new passport and I divided all the pages into 6 squares with light pencil. Then some officer, I forget where, went loopy telling me "your passport is not your property - you can't do that!"... they must be bored, imho.

Finally, I applied my visa at chiang mai immigration this morning.  The girl was nice and just ask me one or two questions in thai  ;  "khun phout passa thai may?".

I am quite eased now facepalm.gif .
