FireMedic
I know its a huge "dead horse beater", but what are you using? I'm looking for a front and back cam for my new car. I really don't want to get one from the basement guys in Central.

sometime
I am using the DOD CR65W, excellent little cam bought it online from an authorized dealer (no clone) and had it brought over from the UK. Then I decided to get a cheap cam for the rear from the local IT Mall, it turned out to be a totally piece of garbage, I was going to say you get what you pay for, but that not the case here. Have you checked out the GPS on playback, does it work? I was told that this models firmware doesn't support Thailand GPS?

The company (Pittasoft) that makes them is a Korean company so Iam not sure where else they could be sourced from so I would be looking at product authenticity before firmware version if there is an issue with the GPS. GavinK
Any idea where the product that you bought on ebay was shipped from ? Was it US or UK ebay ? Any clues on the box ? Apparently firmware on those sourced from Korea and shipped into Thailand is different from that on models shipped to and sold elsewhere (although I don't know if firmware could easily be replaced...). Spoonman
Purchased through US Ebay, sent from Korea. Firmware upgrade does not look difficult. http://www.blackvue.co.kr/en/contents/sub3.asp?mode=view&serboardsort=&page=2&idx=1341&search=&searchstr=
Deacon Bell
Iam using the Blackvue DR550GW-GW-2CH. http://dashboardcamerareviews.com/blackvue-dr550gw-2ch/ Can the rear cam be hooked up to a monitor in the front? The rear cam is not really a parking camera but you could buy a cheap android tablet and connect via wifi for a permanent screen solution. I don't view the cameras at all, I do via my phone if I want but that novelty wore off after a day. Now I just pop the memory card when I get home and pull the clips from it andview on my PC.
GavinK
Spoonman - did you purchase yours from dream-seller, shipped to Thailand ? Any Thai duties to pay ? Boycie - It seems pittasoft make different versions. The one for the local Korean market seems to be the one which some shops sell in Thailand and the GPS doesn't work. They say if you want to use outside of Korea buy the overseas version which is sold by overseas dealers (listed on their website).

Deacon Bell
If one buys a dashcam that has a cig-plug adapter to plug into cig-lighter, how difficult is it to change the power source and connect it to the car battery? What would be needed to do so?
