Small fitness centre near lake?

Featured Replies

My apologies for seeking info, but I have looked around.

I moved to the darkside and live near the lake on Siam CC road. For 12 years I was a member of Dusit Thani gym in Pattaya but it is now so far (and expensive) that I want to find something around the lake. Just a small fitness centre that would take paying guests. I have tried looking on my motorbike.

I tried 'Tony's' but the equipment is rubbish. I don't know if the 'villages' have such places that can be used by outsiders.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated. I'm just a pensioner trying to stay alive! Certainly not looking for bodybuilding or anything 'macho'.

Thanks very much.biggrin.png

You don't need a fitness center. Waste of time and money--and I speak as one who frequented gyms for decades. Buy yourself a TRX suspension trainer or cheap knockoff (or make one yourself for B500). (See youtube for workout routines, as challenging as you can take!) You can string this up on a tree branch beside the lake if you wish. wink.png

And maybe a couple of dumbbells. Walk, bike, or jog or get your own cardio machine of some sort, though you can do cardio w/ the TRX (running in place) or a jump rope.

And you're golden. Next!

Bumping this for those that probably don't like doing short bungee jumping from lakeside trees and are challenged in the mini bungee kit making department.

1 ) Opinions on any gyms or fitness centers on the Dark side please?

Meanwhile, back on the Brightside, years ago, a friend of mine recommended Fairtex and he used to drop by there after work.

2) Any opinions on Fairtex? Alternatives?

There are the aerobics classes on the "field" opposite the Pong district office next to the lake. It happens in the evening. Not sure how to get involved, the district office will probably have some information.
