Good morning all.

Sorry to bring down the tone of the festivities that adorn your Sunday morn but I really do feel the need to vent, so here goes.

It’s a Marathon, not a Snickers you morons.

Sorry but I have been holding that in since 1990.

Always wondered about that Tony. Do you think the Americans renamed it because Marathon was too exercise orientated?

Either way no matter what you call it, it will never be as big as it was back in the day.

Wagon wheels should now be called skateboard wheels etc...

They will be changing the Twix to its 'international' name of 'Raider' next, yes that's what it's called in Germany.

Just think, if Hitler would have had his way, we would be walking around in leather britches eating Raidar bars, das ust goot ya.

And don't get me started on the banning of coconut tobacco and sweet cigarettes.

I remember Black Jacks with the gollywog wrapping - these were replaced by the PC brigade in the late 1980s with a different design.

Snickers is a brand name chocolate bar made by Mars, Incorporated. It consists of nougat topped with caramel and peanuts, enrobed in milk chocolate. Snickers has annual global sales of $2 billion.

In the United Kingdom, the Isle of Man, and Ireland, Snickers was sold under the brand name Marathon until 1990.[3] More recently, Snickers Marathon branded energy bars have been sold in some markets.[4]

Farewell Snickers, now Marathon bars make a comeback

Last updated at 09:45 12 May 2008

Marathon chocolate bars bars could be the latest old-style confectionery favourite to stage a comeback - 18 years after they were renamed Snickers.

A new report has revealed that Mars may be poised to resurrect the peanut-packed chocolate bar 18 years after it vanished from store shelves.

Nostalgic Britons could soon enjoy the retro revival of the popular sweet treat which was ditched in 1990 after Mars decided to align the UK

Marathon product with the global Snickers name.
