Is there any long term car parking at Phuket Airport?

1. Where is it located?

2. How much does it cost?

3. Is it undercover?

I am looking at a period of 1-2 months.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Costs 200 baht per day. No cover in current car park, but the multi storey car park is nearly finished. I know plenty of guys who have parked for periods of 2 months, never had a problem.

They must consider it more safe to park at the airport than at home or they live outside Phuket.

Great! Sounds good.

Anyone know if the new multi-story car park is complete yet? We'll probably be leaving our car for a week or so next month.

I would think there would be some grand opening announcement it the news if it was open for business.

Sitting there for 2 months, your battery may go flat, and if you have a car alarm, the back-up battery starts to "churp" until it goes flat as well, which usually means the siren (where the back-up battery is located) needs to be replaced.

Then, you will need a jump start, which may not work, and then you'll have to get one of Phuket's famous airport taxis to go and buy a new battery, and then bring you back and install it.

Is there no one you can leave the car with who can start it every few days for you?

What about a mechanic's shop?

Guess there would be but perhaps it will be like the new underpass and they will just open it when it's still under construction with no fanfare to speak of!

Will be difficult to open the new car park as the entry/exit ramp is not finished yet.

It will be a long walk from the new car park to the terminal for someone like me who suffers from osteoarthritis affecting my knee & so my ability to walk well.

Correct but i believe that the new terminal which is being build almost in front of the car park will be the new international terminal (and hopefully with a connection to the carpark) and the old one the domestic terminal.

Most decent car alarms will go off when you disconnect the car battery, so, you have to turn off the alarm back-up battery. Sure, this is no problem, but now there is no alarm on your car.

A new battery may be ok to sit there for 2 months without a charge, and a discharge, but an older battery, sitting there for 2 months, may die, then you have the problems mentioned in my post.

Some tyres may also go flat as well.

About the new parking garage - today a taxi driver complained to me he has to park there, then walk to the arrival building, wait for the customer (pre arranged ride), request the customer to wait, walk back to the car, and then drive to the arrival building to pick up the customer.

I have used the multi storey for the weekend. Totally fine. Even a toilet there. ANd lifts. 200 a day. I am thinking of leaving my car there over xmas.

In the shade. Breeeze. Should I disconnect the battery for 3 weeks? THB4000 parking v THB1500 taxis which might turn up at 6 a.m.

Yes, exactly the same as before, except the walk is 2 minutes longer.

Used the new carpark now for a few times.

Can't say nothing bad about it only that they don't use the ground floor for some reason.

Keeping it back......just in case the old system is restored.

It's ok. I googled and apparently " Parking for about 1,000 motorbikes is available, free, in the area of the old car park closest to the road outside."
