Imitation explosive device found at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya

hospital-3.jpg

PATTAYA: -- On Saturday afternoon a nurse, who was arriving for work, made an alarming discovery of an item which resembled a home-made explosive device on a footpath in front of the main tower at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya.

Police and Bomb Disposal Officers from Sattahip Navy Base were called in to inspect the device which was wrapped in black tape and appeared to resemble a “ping-pong bomb”

The item was moved to a safer place and carefully deconstructed and it was quickly determined the item did not contain any explosive materials apart from a strip of caps from a “Cap Gun”, along with a harmless yellow powder.

somekind of extortion going on and this was a soft warning ?

did the police put those old tires there? if it was an explosive device, do they think it will contain the bomb or be a nice shrapnel intensifier ?

Harmless or not it would have been enough to scare the living daylights out of people ! What is wrong with some people, why would they want to do this kind of thing? I Can't write what i think here, but i'm sure you could have a good guess.....angry.png

T.I.T. This is Thailand.

Hate to say it, but this could  just be a dummy run for the real thing. Whoever planted this device knew it was sure to be discovered in such a public location. They will now have a pretty good idea of the reactions and response times of the security forces involved.

Hopefully, the culprit is simply be some deranged individual. On the other hand, southern insurgents have talked of targeting tourist areas if their demands are not met. And, of course, there are opponents of the present military regime who have vowed not to take the imposition of martial law lying down.

All round, an event not to be treated lightly.

The expert said it was yellow gunge

...why would they want to do this kind of thing?...

Probably pissed of at some extortionate bill they got from the hospital. If they were being treated for mental illness then they hadn't yet been cured.
