The standard of football, sportsmanship and any outstanding skills on a regular basis from any team during this world cup will have huge implications on the next season.

This was international football at it,s worst.

Remember this is / was supposed to be the biggest competion in the world on the football calendar.

No excuses it was crap no matter what happens during he rest of the tournament.

For me it sums up where football is and what all it,s associations have presented us all with.

So many negatives which out weighed the good by miles

What football represents now is corruption, gamesman ship, commercialism, dishonour, cheating and loyalty only to money to name a few.

How can our children be encouraged by their parents to use the game as an example of all we aspired to when we where children.

I am now 62 ( in days ) have been a supporter all my life and have passed on my love for the

game as it used to be to many family members and other youngsters alike.

Sadly i have lost the love and know many others that have done likewise.

There,s not a week goes by without some scandal, incident is taking place and that,s just English football.

The hierarchy and all it,s intitutions that run the game need changing from top to bottom, then and only then can we hope for a fresh imput of ideas, along with standards worthy of our support in the future.

I am truly sick of them all, along with the mindset they and our players now think represents the beautiful game and what we as supporters should witness season after season.

Yes by the way i was a paying supporter and not just an armchair fan and am truly sickened by it all.

How many of your mates and fellow countrymen ( all nations ) have recently said enough is enough and are turning to other sports still relatively free of the above.

money, money, money, that,s all it is these days and no heart or love for the game unless a mega fee is paid.

you said it yourself - it's all about money. I mean - if even garbage scavengers in Germany nowdays make a fortune merely on collecting empty beer cans (was one article somewhere) - imagine how much more money all others make - hotels, restaurants, T-shirts sellers etc ?

but then - what is not about money nowdays ?

I've read elsewhere that some predict soon won't be natioanl teams anymore at all - it would be clubs footbal. and clubs means what ? who can buy more and better players. even in this World cup one can see - many players are "bought". I mean - it is not a big deal to invite player play for some club and then make him a citizen of that country so that he can play for national team. like that guy Alex in Japanese team - DEFINETELY he doesn't look like Jap. or both Klose and Podolski, well, I guess Borowski too - are NOT german but .... Polish.

but one thing is sure - it won't be stoped as a game. and quality would be demanded - otherwise they simply won't be able to make money if it doesn't attract enough attenders / fans.

but I think still there are enough players who do love it and play not because of money or at least NOT ONLY.

I have to agree with the majority of your post marshbags but surely even the Italian's are topping the scandal and corruption league at the moment.
