Yingluck

BANGKOK: -- Former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra would return to Thailand early this morning, as planned, her ex-deputy PM Surapong Tovichakchaikul has said, quashing a rumour that she had postponed her return till the end of the month.

Surapong, who served as foreign minister in Yingluck's government, said yesterday that Yingluck was not in the United States but was close to Thailand.

Lt-General Kampanart Ruddit, director of the Reconciliation for Reform Centre, denied that Yingluck had contacted the National Council for Peace and Order with a request to extend her overseas trip.

The NCPO granted her permission to holiday overseas from late last month till today.

After taking control of the country, the council placed Yingluck under detention briefly for questioning and released her under several conditions. One was that she not leave the country without its permission.

Her lawyer Norawit Lalaeng said she had not assigned a lawyer to request an extension of her trip.

He said she did not need to seek political asylum even though she had been charged by the National Anti-Corruption Commission over her alleged failure to stop huge financial losses and corruption in the rice-pledging scheme. The case had not been filed in court and even if it reached court, it would take a long time before the court made a ruling.

Attorney-General Trakul Winitnaiyapak said he had appointed deputy Attorney-General Wuthipong Wibulwong as chief public prosecutor in charge of the rice-pledging scheme case.

Deputy Attorney-General Pongniwat Yuthapanboriparn has been made deputy chief of the panel handling the case, with former deputy Attorney-General Thaworn Panitpan an adviser to the panel and Special Attorney Pranee Rattanachaiwong a panel member.

Trakul has ordered the panel to scrutinise alleged corruption in the scheme that was unearthed by the NACC and report its findings within 30 days.

He said if the panel resolved that the NACC had enough evidence to press charges against Yingluck, it would be unnecessary to have additional witness testimony. He was referring to Yingluck's plea for the Attorney-General's Office to order an additional 50 witness testimonies.

her court case is going to watched by millions...& if guilty with jail time could be the spark the army have been worried about.

IF she does arrive back this month it shows her brother in a very bad light

Well she would certainly surprise me if she would return and face the court. Perhaps it's part of a masterplan from the missunderstood fugitive, perhaps she's her own woman and decided herself. Perhaps some secret deal has been brokered beforehand with the military government.

Fact is that so far no high ranking person from the yl government is put behind bars. And there sure is reason enough to put Tarit, Chalerm, Jattuporn and many others there.

If that doesn't happen at all then notning will change in the long run. Despite the good start Prayuth has made in less than three months. Wait and see then.

I'm not saying she won't return but the proof positive will be all the footage of her walking through Swampy surrounded by the usual crawlers,  sorry well wishers.

I hope she does return and faces the courts. I do not think she is guilty of corruption on the rice scheme more so incompetence and being shackled with her brothers scumbag minders and enforcers. The same crap as Abhisit had to deal while he was PM and shackled by the corruption of those around him and the Dems bed mates. Would be interesting to see how these people would preform in a lawful environment which Khun Prayuth is bringing to bear. Not saying she has the economic understanding of Abhisit but she does have charisma to present as a leader with honest politicians around her. Call for her is whether her son having a future in Thailand is more important to her than her scumbag brother. If she turns up at Swampy then good for her.

perhaps    perhaps.     Maybe you should deal with the present and the facts and stop trying to predict the future.

definitvely this lady got more balls than these yellow tv grandmathumbsup.gif

They weren't big enough to stand up to her brother and say the occasional " No ".  maybe she wouldn't have so many problems if she had.

I can't wait to see what she's wearing!

better than this, she stand up against the army, she stand up against the crooked elite, she stand up for her right, she stand up... she did stand up.  Where yellow grandma would have crawled in their hole. She stand up!

and dont let forgetn thailand did suffer around 20 useless coup. I think most of the ousted PM did run in exile(i am not sure about this).  But she Stand up!

Did you get the message. No, i dont think so...laugh.png

ps: and let me add, she doesnt have any problem, except the one, that the yellow are making.

Where and when did she stand up against the army ?  As Defence Minister she never attended any meetings

She didn't stand up against the crooked elite as her family are part of it.

Of course she stood up for own rights by saying she didn't know what was going on because she never attended any meetings,  never attended Parliament.

Hey MB  you are not starting to collect old lottery tickets to wall- paper your condo are you??thumbsup.gif  ( as the guy did on another thread)

In other words, she'll be back for now to pack some more suitcases, before she will vanish in the air forever. She has time.

I can't wait to see what she's wearing!

Chrome plated wrist and ankle bracelets ( shackles ) would be nice  whistling.gif

And you know this as a fact?  Did she tell you this?   Or are you just making up lies here.

Did I miss the photos of her return this morning? Can't see it in any news, only her cousin Surapong's claim, which as we all know does not carry much weight.

I think she'll return...I think tomorrow early am sometime...

As for court....she'll fight...and if found guilty....then gaol time???......never.......

The charges she is facing are not grounds for asylum. Self imposed exile to flee the consequences of being found guilty yes.

Still I'm sure she has a good tutor to learn from should that become necessary.

I'm surprised that she hasn't quite got the HiSo eyebrow thing down.

A bit shaggy...

When I dared suggest irregularities in the rice scheme the typical reply was;

And you know this as a fact?  Did she tell you this?   Or are you just making up lies here.

When I dared suggest the red shirts were responsible for the terrorist attacks the typical response was;

And you know this as a fact?  Did she tell you this?   Or are you just making up lies here.

So don't be surprised when they keep saying it and just nod your head knowing they have been wrong every other time they have said it.
