Jasmine rice farming

Please excuse my ignorance....this is just the one planting?

Regards.

I would be asking the question ... do you have access to water all year round?

We do not really have access to water all year round and nobody can tell me why there are no boreholes for irrigation in the region. So one crop a year means that we cultivate jasmine rice which gets a better price but lower yield. Last year we got about 380kg/rai (in 80kg sacks, strewth).

Boreholes cost money for the drilling and pump.

Possibly fields have no electricity, and running a generator may not be cost effective.

Remote fields mean a high chance of the pump being stolen unless removed after every use.

4 inch dept submergible pumping for 16 hour cost 600 baht for electric. Who is going to pay for that ?
