American beaten by Ladyboy in Central Pattaya

PATTAYA:--Late on Thursday Night a 36 year old American was attacked by a Ladyboy in front of a Ladyboy Bar in Soi Buakhao after he angrily refused to enter the Bar following an approach by the attacker on the street.

Mr. Shawn Bowsher described to Police how he was walking along Soi Buakhao, close to the entrance of Soi LK Metro, when he was approached by a Ladyboy who attempted to pursued the American to enter the bar.

Mr. Bowsher was offended by the encounter and entered into a verbal altercation with the Ladyboy who proceeded to strike Mr. Bowsher across the head with a high-heeled shoe, causing a deep laceration to the head of the American.

Yes they are but just telling them you are not attracted to them usually helps. Telling them off is just stupid but some people will never learn.

The lady-boy was of course the aggressor here and the one most in the wrong, words to violence is never good. But the other party could have told them no without getting offensive.

I believe the USA and UK are well known for their offensive language (meaning its quite normal to put offensive words in the language not everyone of course because many of the people i know dont but there is a group that puts f..icking between each sentence). Here that is far less the case and people do take offence when talked to in that matter.

I don't get some people. They go to a soi where there are dozens of bars where people are drunk and others are seeking out some pleasure or fantasy and touts line the front of every bar. There is fierce competition by the bars and clubs for your dollar. This is obvious once you step into the Soi

Then some guy takes offence to being handled by a ladyboy. Grow up!

How do you know that wasn't a post-op?

It is easy when living in Pattaya - and not exposed to the wider Thailand scene of offices and other places of regular work - to feel that all Thai transgender folk work only at night on Beach Road etc.

anglud's post was accurate in that you will find such folk in banks, factories, government, film and television, and many other places, living a fairly normal life by most standards and far more numerous than any Pattaya population of the same type.

The majority of ladyboys I have met have all been normal fun loving people. treat them with respect and you get the same back. While I don't condone the American for getting angry I do understand it.

I have been walking through Pattaya and along the Sukhumwit in Bangkok and been groped by ladyboys, in most other countries this would be classed as a sexual assault.

Simple, close the bar until the manager fingers the culprit and pays damages to the victim.

Maybe it was also exacerbated by low season pressure for funds and the Lady Boys were even more pushy than normal.

By the guys own admission he wanted to tell them what he thought about being "intercepted"

No excuse whatsoever for such a vicious assault but is the guy going to say "I shouted and swore at them then grabbed one and shoved them out of the way" - only someone who actually witnessed the incident and not aligned to either party can honestly say what happened but the result is obvious.

As for the Lady Boy running away, well that's typical Thai behaviour as we all know.

Again, no excuse !
