No smiles. Group photo for the nine people arrested.

These people need rehabilitation not thrown in jail. 3.09 grams is like a dot in the universe compared to the amount of drugs out there. Come on good police, it's about time someone at the top of the drug dealing business is arrested & locked up for a long time.

What is interesting is that the photo presents a broad cross section of workaday thai folk. It is clear from the photo that the Ya Ice problem is not just amongst young "say pay" thai lads with tatoos and souped up scooters. Thai suburbia is now awash with this poison.

I totally agree, the police continue to arrest the users and small-time sellers. Where are the arrests of the major suppliers. How difficult is it to get the seller to name his supplier and move up the chain to arrest the major players.

I've tried (and failed) to explain the concept of the people doing the arresting are the people supplying, so they know who you are already, and your best friends will grass you up to meet their monthly quota to stay out of the clink, which will eventually fail as they run out of people to point the finger at. Rinse, reset, and start the game again. It's a sorry sad situation.

But if they went up the chain there would be no police to do the arresting, For kingpins not being caught means That the fox guards the Hen house Maybe better if the General hires outside agency with no vested interest in Thailand to hunt down the Kingpins. Bet heads would roll then Police would be leaving the country by the truckload.

The problem is that it never has been, has never been defined to one social class.

The progression of events is to knock off the small-time dealers so the sharks can control the entire market. It was called " Mandatory Minimum Sentencing" in the US, here it's just called the usual "Crackdown". Am I mistaken, or has the arrest process of small -fry dealers gone into effect only in the last few months?

Meanwhile the Chiang Mai Narc boss is walking away after being caught with 800,000 pills in Chiang Rai......coffee1.gif.pagespeed.ce.Ymlsr09gMJ.gif alt=coffee1.gif width=32 height=24> coffee1.gif.pagespeed.ce.Ymlsr09gMJ.gif alt=coffee1.gif width=32 height=24> coffee1.gif.pagespeed.ce.Ymlsr09gMJ.gif alt=coffee1.gif width=32 height=24>

"The officer was later dismissed from the services pending an investigation.

If found guilty, maximum penalty is death, the deputy commissioner said."

I will wait for the conviction and sentencing before I believe he does time. We hear plenty about arrests, none about convictions and time served.
