You need to bring your car book (blue book) and go to the transport department which is opposite JJ market, pay the fees it's around 2000 THB more or less, depend on the car model,

so all what you need is your car book, and your driving license will be with you in anyway,

that's all what you need to renew your "tabian" as they call it in Thai. and you have done..!

Good luck

You will also need to take your government car insurance. When you last insured your car the insurance company or broker should have asked you if you wish to buy "government insurance". If you don't have a govenment insurance certificate you will have to purchase one when you are taxing your car.

I'd also take copies of your passport and visa pages.

If you do not have time to go to your insurer for the compulsory Insurance , most government Offices where your renew your tax stickers have private insurers counters with that can sell you the Compulsory Insurance you need for your car the Thais call this : " Paw Raw Baw ".

Ask at the information desk.

It does not have to be the same company as your own Insurance.

If your are late to renew , they will add a small amount to your renewal fee to cover the days you are late.

Plus he will need to have the car tested before buying theTax

Only cars over 7 years old have to be tested before taxing them

Alternatively, you should also be able to go to the Land Transport office covering your area, which I believe is this one 13.696293, 100.609260

I have a one stop counter service where I pay my electric, car payment, house insurance and he also does car & motorbike permit renew. I just bring him my blue book for the car or green book for the motorbike and he goes to the transport office and charges 100 baht for the service. Get the book and sticker the next day. I have been using his service for 7 years now, very convenient. Guess I am one of the lucky ones. I live in JoHo just outside of Korat in case anyone was wondering.
