Any top notch luthiers (for electric guitar) in Bangkok?

Featured Replies

I did a search and so far didn't see anything that convinces me. I want some major work done on a telecaster: replane the fretboard to a different radius, respray, refret with stainless steel wire, and put a new nut. I love this guitar and only want a guy with real professional pride to touch it. I want someone who's world class and don't mind if they charge for that. Is there someone like that in Bangkok, or should I just take it to my guy at home next time I go there? It would sure be handy to have someone reliable here as I have some other guitars that need work.

PS: during a general internet search, I came across this guy. Anyone have experience with him?

I would prefer someone like this who is an actual guitar builder, as it makes it more likely they're passionate about their work and do good work even when you're not breathing down their necks.

if your prepared to go to Pattaya the is a highly recommended guy, whose name at the moment escapes me, but maybe ask on the Pattaya forum, I remember some guys on that forum mentioning they have had work done by him and he was very good.

I know of some rosewood for sale in northern Thailand. It could be used for guitar making (fretboards, etc). It was milled 5 to 10 years ago and has been sitting gathering dust in a hill tribe storage unit, so there are no legal issues. I think there are a few slabs, approx. 1.5" x 20" x 5 ft. all red colored wood, no blonde. I saw one piece (gray with dust) which had no visible cracks, and just a few knots. If interested, send me a message.
