Power Outages and Internet Out In Rawai

Featured Replies

Power went out about 6 PM and didn't come back until after 9 PM. My internet is still out. I'm now using my wife's "smart" phone. Power went out for almost two hours yesterday too! What's going on?

Everything's been fine up near Promthep Cape.

Was a big one, the whole of Sai Yuan and big part of Rawai was dark yesterday afternoon/evening.

I live on Soi Samakee 4, and there was a big boom around 5pm yesterday and everything went black - power came back around 9:30pm. Thai neighbor rang the electric company and they said some building developers had hit a breaker. I'm in my office in Kathu today, so not sure if that still has something to do with loss of power and internet today.

Brown outs in Kata between those times. Has to be Patong related.

At the shop in Kata no problems the whole time.

In Rawai we had the big blackout, after that and today no problem at all with internet and/or electricity.

Phuket Gazette website seems to be down. Is it related? Is the PG server hosted in Phuket or somewhere else?

The IP range belongs to Loxinfo so I guess the server is somewhere inside of Thailand anyway.

My internet was still down this morning, called KPP Rawai and they sent someone outside to fix it. I never heard what the problem was as I was gone. We didn't have any power problems after they replaced all the transmission lines in our area for quite a while, but now they just keep building everywhere and it's back to going out quite a lot. Infrastructure seems to not be keeping pace with development as usual around here.
