Ex-mayor Pian Keesin surrenders to Thai Navy in Phuket

Featured Replies

Great first step.....Now let us know what jail time they are facing and when they start serving it.

And when they are released so we can learn how much time they actually do.

It's not how much your sentence is it's how much of it you serve that's important. A 10-year sentence is useless if less than a week is served.

Pian Keesin, his sons and 5 company employes were released on bail of 150,000 Baht each at 5 AM. Unbelievable. The biggest crooks are out already.

Murderers get out on bail in the Thai justice system, so these 2 (+ the other shareholders/directors) can of of course get bail as well.

It is not like they'll be running to Dubai.

True, but usually the suspects have to appear in court for a bail hearing. What happened here? One Major General that is in charge of the investigation denied them bail for fear of witness intimidation, but he was over over ruled by his commanding officer.

He's the Teflon Don of Phuket. I won't be surprised one bit when he walks away without even a slap on the wrist.

"I won't be surprised one bit when he walks away without even a slap on the wrist." - either would I, but I would think that would be a "slap on the wallet" for him. :)
