The North Okkalapa Court sentenced land-rights activist and anti-government crusader Htin Kyaw to another year and four months in prison with hard labour on September 3.

Outcry as activist gets 11 years and 4 months

Amnesty International has called on the Myanmar government to cease its “relentless persecution” of a prominent human rights activist. Ko Htin Kyaw, leader of the Movement for Democracy Current Force (MDCF), has been sentenced to a total of 11 years and four months in prison for alleged public order offences in recent months.
