What' the time ? Is' time to get Busted

Over-time. These inactive posts are OK for a period while evidence is being collected but the people of Thailand want to see real penalties for real corruption. Sacking, loss of pension where appropriate and imprisonment & seizure of assets where proven.

"The clock system is a set of synchronized clocks designed to always show exactly the same time by communicating with each other."

And this is from a country that punctuality is alien to them it's not a word in their vocabulary...

It would help, if the media would stipulate, when the orders were placed.
Maybe the Media puts up a "Watch" and keeps, possibly on a website accessible for all, track on the proceedings of the individual case. I am sure that clean civil servants cannot but support this motion.

And make sure, please, that the website creation is within a seven digit Thai Baht amount, please ;-)

More "inactive posts" as a penalty for corruption, which I'm sure was a real deterrent . . .

I prefer to look at these inactive posts as holding cells for the suspects until sufficient evidence is collected to prosecute...!

You have that one right George.

Now in this case the evidence has been collected and charges can be laid.

Lets hope there are many more in the 'inactive post sin bin' soon to be facing charges.

Inactive post for massive fraud by the elite, but 15 years in prison for picking a few mushrooms....... <deleted>... Nothing will never improve without prison sentences for the elite... it's as simple as that!

Things may appear simple when the facts are not known. Inactive posts are often a way station for more serious things to come.

they should all be forced to reinact the crime, like they do to common people..they need a little dose of ''humiliation''

Or suddenly they are gone to another country

who needs clocks anymore when even the poorest of us is walking about with a cell phone with the time on it.

Correct.

But no one walks around with microphones. So buying expensive microphones is a priority for Thai rich government (but poor people on sufficient economy).

Mr Suvichak was earlier sacked by the military junta and put in inactive post at the Prime Minister’s Office.

What the hell is a inactive post at the Prime Ministers Office?

Drinking coffee and picking their nose?

Absolutely and still on salary to boot at tax payers expense. We will soon need a new building for the legions who are in inactive posts.

Humiliation may have its place in certain circumstances. A more enduring consequence of criminal conduct is sweeter.

you can steal all you want if you work for the governement and get an inactive (paid) post

15 year for each count of LM ...

Corruption cannot be ended in Thailand until the entire junta leadership receives a royal decree of immunity from prosecution for any non-violent criminal acts before the coup. Only then can it function free from accusations of complicity by any accused.

Yes it can.

There is a saying in Thailand: No Shin, No Corruption.

Ha ha yes, but under the previous regime, those prosecutions never actually materialized. Maybe now that a lot of the "protection" has gone, we'll see a lot more.

Good thing no corruption was found in those 145K microphones that got discounted to only 99K a piece. I was beginning to think that all of these unnecessary purchases were corruption based.

You mean the investigation which was started yesterday can be dropped ?

Wow, the men in black arrested and corruption detected in the clocks within a few hours of each other......in some places this would be called an attempt to bury other bad news (the microphones)

Obviously and clear for all to see. I already informed parties in control to wait with the other news till next week in order not to make it too obvious rolleyes.gif

Curiouser and curiouser, said Alice.

If there was no transparency we never would have head about it. If there was no corruption it never would have been a problem.

Amazing Lhieland.

Then BIB can point at them as per standard operating procedure. If Thailand didn't exist you wouldn't invent it !

The conundrum for the elite is just this:

We went to school to learn...knowledge is power...power is corrupt...corruption is a crime...crime doesn't pay???...so why the hell did we go to school???

Can see many heads being scratched at the moment while at home carrying out an inactive post.

This so-call 'new' scandal is months old and was raised as an issue during the last gasps of the previous government. Perhaps if the headlines related the facts instead of deliberately misleading readers there might just be a little more credibility gained - not much but a little...

Inactive post? Put in a dark room with a pack of cards and still paid.

Not wishing to detract from the alleged corruption over the parliamentary clock system purchase but, I don't know, there seems to be something a bit coincidental with the timing here.

The OAG sends a confidential letter to the new Junta appointed secretary-general of the Secretariat of the House of Representatives on July 25th. This letter said that they had discovered corruption in the clock purchase which among others implicates the former secretary-general of the Secretariat of the House of Representatives. OK, good work.

On the 11th September, a month and a half later, during which nothing more has been said (after all the letter was "confidential" and the new secretary-general was taking "cautious steps to pursue legal action against all involved") the existence of the letter is suddenly revealed and appears in the media.

Surely this has nothing to do with deflecting attention away from the over elaborate, over expensive, possibly corrupt audio visual equipment purchase, the backlash first coming to light on the 8th September, surely not whistling.gif

Just give it a break. Stop twisting and turning. Just condemn corruption by your beloved PT party instead of trying to distract people. You would make a good Red shirt leader.

Don't you just hate it when you can't come up with a cogent argument to counter......................

Oh and in your haste to flame you might have missed this
