Production year does it have an effect on resale value?

I have booked a new car, the sales guy said the car will be delivered by late december. So which means it will be a 2014 production year model, so i was wondering if i delay and wait a few days and tell them i want a 2015 production year model. Will it change anything?

It is the year the vehicle is registered in that is important

No it isn't.

in theory you are correct but the year or the vehicle in thailand is the year on the book. So if the op takes delivery in September 2014 and the book comes in 2015. When he sells it, it will be a 2015 model.

The new year models start to roll out around October- November I believe. Best you insist on 2015 model and wait for it, otherwise 1 month after delivery you have last years model
