Myanmar Muslims not interested in al-Qaeda Despite appalling treatment of the Rohingya, most Muslims aren't interested in challenging the military or the government

They may be at the receiving end of an ongoing hate-filled campaign by their own countrymen but Myanmar Muslims are not about to sell their soul just to get back at the people who don't think they deserve the same rights and respect as the rest of the country's people.

Al Qaeda hopes to exploit the plight of Myanmar’s embattled Muslims

BANGKOK, Thailand — Myanmar’s Rohingya people have been hacked to death, driven from their homes and quarantined in grubby camps. Many are shrunken from malnutrition and disease.

But while most see their condition as a tragedy, Al Qaeda sees opportunity.
