Some help required please on general visit visa for girlfriend..

I have completed my girlfriends visa application today 15/9/2014 and booked her appointment.

her date of travel to the UK will be 15/1/2015. This is 4 months before the date of travel but i read that you can apply

upto 3 months before the date of travel.....

Has me doing this screwed up the application? if so can i leave a note attached to the back of her printed application

changing the date of travel to december 15th 2014 rather than jan 15th 2015???

Thanks in advance

As already said to you, but repeated here for the benefit of others and to see if others can add to my reply:-

Officially, you can only apply up to three months in advance.

Whether or not VFS will accept the application for forwarding to the embassy, and whether or not the embassy will then process the application, and if they do what start date they'll give it, I don't know.

What you, or she, can do is alter the start date on the print out and then append a note explaining what you've done.

The visa will be valid for 6 months from the requested date or the date of issue; whichever is the later, and can be used to enter the UK at any time during it's validity; but she must leave the UK on or before it's expiry date.

If she definitely wants to spend 6 months in the UK starting from 15/1/15 then it may be better to cancel this appointment and make another one for nearer that date.

As you have said that you will be changing the travel date in the application, then, as I said, make sure you explain the change in travel date fully in a covering note or your sponsor's letter.
