Upset
Ok ....really...India is a nice place but there is great diversity. If you are planning to spend about a month...start with madras but later go to bangalore(bengaluru) and also visit Madurai...lots of beautifil temples at the beaches etc. Can u PM me your email...I will email you a list of places that you should not miss.
Mahseer
In India at present and would recommend Kerala as an introduction to India. It's the state with the highest education in India and makes an easy place to start and offers beaches/canals/mountains and plenty more. Start in Cochin (Kochi) and enjoy the seafood and branch out when you are ready. Only bad news is no direct flights. You'll both need visas. Enjoy.
