According to my wife and her friends they would like to see their Thai husbands tarred, feathered hung and quartered

Perhaps I should have divided this into 'What Thai men want' and 'What Thai women want'?

i think thais have an extremely strong sense of identity

perhaps the confidence you speak of

but of self actualization, very rare imho

maybe there is a correlation

same as everyone everywhere: to improve their lot in life

and this usually means materially, financially and relationships

maslow was referring to something else at the top

probably very rare in thailand

maybe less rare in the west but still very rare
