Are there any problems for farang using this border crossing, i am thinking of doing my next visa run through there.

No problems.

I hate it because it is often too busy, unfriendly and generally has an air of corruption about (I accept that most border crossings probably do).

You do at least have the option of using an e-visa.

At the expense of sounding dumb, what is an e-visa. My Thai visa is a non-imm O. Thanks !

It is a electronic visa for Cambodia, that you can apply for of over the internet. Using an e visa saves you a page in your passport as you only get 2 small stamps instead of using the whole page.
