Hi

I am flying to the los in oct I was going for 2 weeks but now i have decided to go for as long as possible

I have a 2 week ticket with eva air from London to Bangkok which i can extend to one year if I wish i don't want to do this yet just in case i don't get the visa

when I apply for a triple entry visa in London do I need to show a return ticket or any other travel plans or anything else like bank statements

I use to go before with just a single and a visa but this was was quite a few years ago and i know the rules have changed

my passport is new with no old visa stamps in it if this helps

also do the airlines let you on the plane with just a single ticket if I have a visa

if this is the case i might get a refund with eva air and by a cheaper single with air inda or someone else

and when is the best time to apply for my visa my flight is on the 25th of Oct and would like to get the most out of my visa

or do you think i should try Hull?

Thnks all for any help

From embassy webpage. http://thaiembassyuk.org.uk/?q=node/45

"2. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

- Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months
- Visa application form completely filled out
- Two (2) recent (2 x 2 inches.) photographs of the applicant
- A letter from a doctor/hospital in Thailand (for purposes of Medical Treatment in Thailand)
- Consular officers reserve the rights to request additional documents as deemed necessary"

If you have a visa a return or onward ticket is not required.
If you apply in person you pick up the visa the next day. By post it takes 4 to 5 days.

as far as I know you need a tourist visa, it allow you 2 months and one month extention is possible without leaving the country

but I think you need show a plane ticket return to prove you wil not stay in Thailand...

if I would be you I would come to thailand with your plane ticket return (15 days after arrival), and then wait to change this ticket from Thailand to extend to 3 months after arrival

so when you will go to immigration to extend one more month you can show you will leave the country before this 3 months are finished

He will be applying for a 3 entry tourist visa not a single entry.

The embassy does not ask for a ticket out. The airline will not ask for a ticket out if you have a visa. Immigration does not ask for tickets when you apply for the 30 day extension either.

triple entry in London takes two days

no return ticket needed

£75

check their website for British and Thai holidays!

get it as late as possible as the 6 month validity starts from the day they put the visa in your passport

you can usually get 8 or 9 months out of a triple entry by getting 30 day extensions at immigration in Thailand

Birmingham provides the quickest visa service in the UK

go to the consul in the morning and they do it while you wait, it usually takes 30 minutes to do

Can anyone help with a related Tourist Visa question please? I am from the UK and wil be applying in person in London for my visa.

I will be travelling from the UK and staying in Thailand for about 70 days, then going to the Philipines for a week, returning to Thailand for a further 40 days and then returning home to the UK. I have a return ticket covering my flights to and from UK/Thailand. I won't have tickets for travel to Phils until after I arrive in Thailand.

I plan to apply for a double entry tourist visa and then get a 30 day extension on my 1st entry from Jomtien before my first 60 days is up. This will cover me until I leave Thailand on day 70 to go to Phils . My 2nd entry will be activated when I come back from Phils and cover me for the 40 days til I go back to the UK.

On the Visa Application Form there are 2 questions that I am not sure what to answer i.e.

- 'Proposed duration of Stay' - presumably I should put 60 days or something less in here even though I intend to extend beyond that?

- 'For Departure Travelling BY ..... To.......' - I'm not sure what to put here as I don't intend to depart until after the 60 days as I will be extending my 1st entry?

Advice appreciated - thanks

You can answer to the best of your knowledge, or place TBD, and it will not make a difference.

I would write "duration of stay: max. 60 days per entry"; "departure travelling by air to Philippines"
