question for all pro painters out there

Ok I have the following problem (for a long time now)

as it time to paint all the house over again I want to make sure not the same mistakes are being made.

Ok we live in a 2 store home for 6 years now.

The rooms downstairs were all painted as we moved in and never had any issues.

Now the rooms upstairs were painted about 1 year in after we moved in and they all seem to have the same issue.

We have used the same brand of paint (different colour mixes though) and different guys who painted the rooms.

You can see on the pictures that all walls started to show the same symptoms quit fast after the paint job was complete. Some rooms are more than others too.

The pink is the worst and was the first room painted. All 3 colours were done by different painters? All walls were pre sand papered and done with a double layer of primer.

So is the problem now what?

The walls?

water? (Which I dont think we have?)

Paint mixture?

painters?

Mold?

what could this be??

Judging by the patterns and the handprints, it looks like something caused by cleaning, not by painting.

I understand why you think this but I can asure you the walls have never been cleaned with any water

Can you determine if the splotches are on the surface or showing through the paint? If surface (eg: mold), a cleaning product should remove. If showing through, that could be the result of what seems to be a Thai painting "rule" that paint needs to be thinned 50% or more. I've seen them do that regardless of paint quality and whether the paint at their cost or provided.

OK, well that begs the question - have you tried cleaning a patch to see if it's removable?

Not sure if they thinned down the paint or not?

could it be the color mix they use is thinned down too much?

I buy all my paint at Home Work?

It seems obvious (since it is not on surface) that the initial sanding splotches are now showing through the paint. Probably from thinning. Try applying another coat with no thinning and that might be the fix.

Edit: and you will need to clean the surface (like with a damp towel) before painting.
