September 28, 201411 yr Hi guys, I'm changing school, moving to another government school in another province. As usual, I've to get a new non-b for the new school... Question is, should I cancel my old non-b at the immigration prior to leaving the country or let it sort itself out at the airport? Also, what document do I need to cancel it at the airport? Thanks in advance!
September 28, 201411 yr Likely you have an extension of stay, not a visa - visas cannot be cancelled. Now in the regulations starting 29/8 there is a new clause that makes possible to change teaching jobs without leaving country.http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/749918-thai-immigration-issues-new-police-order-3272557-effective-august-29-2014/2.7 3. Copy of work permit or application form in case of changing institution of teaching during the validity of work permit. The way I understand it, you apply for the new work permit, with a copy of that (or letter of approval) go to Immigration, they would cancel the old extension and grant a new one for one year. Then with the extension in passport, Labor office would release you the actual work permit. Edited September 28, 201411 yr by paz
September 29, 201411 yr You should be able to do this in Thailand now, but check with your local immigration office because they tend to be a law un to themselves. Get letter from your old school saying that your employment has finished or contract expired and take it to the Labour office with your new schools documents, i.e letter of employment, contract all the usual stuff. They will cancel your old permit and give you a new one or a letter of approval. Take this and any other papers that you need for the new extension to immigration. It is always good to have someone from the school with you on these occassions.
