minikev post # 87

Look at the vid mataleo posted and then look at this heading pic http://www.thaivisa....clue-of-murder/

from 11 seconds on. In the vid his arm swings like a fast walk yet in the still pic his arm and leg give the appearance of running. I've frozen and played slowly and I can't put his arm and leg in the same position.

The police were using something like overlaying technology a week ago to place a man in custody !!!!!!!! I just can't work out why they would be different.

Perhaps he ran past and walked past and they are from different footage but the still looks blurred and the vid is much clearer.

Your comments and analystic report confirm my view that there has been some licence taken with the images obtained from CCTV points in this case.

Now why would this be so one must ask?

Instead of testing 2 - 300 people.how bout testing the two guys, who refused to give a dna test. Or at least bring them back in for interrogating.

7 days old!

Some fishermen fishing off Kanom district in Nakhon Si Thammarat province alerted police that they found a Thai man on a speedboat named "Little Duck" speeding south from Koh Pha Ngan. The man stopped by and asked for directions to Naiprao Island in the district. But he changed direction to Pakpanang district in the same province after his boat encountered a marine police boat on Naiprao beach.

Meanwhile, Pol Maj Gen Kittipong Kaosam-ang, a Surat Thani police commander, asked the media not to report in-depth investigation results, saying it may give some clues to the culprits. But he revealed that Thais may have been involved in the murders and had tried to destroy evidence linking them to the attacks. Some people on Koh Tao had given false information to police in a bid to divert attention

The islanders know whats going on. How else can the last two sentences be justified. This from a Commanding officer. If he knows this drag them all in a DNA test them. Is there no laws on withholding information here.

From the blurred numbers on the bottom of the screen on the still it looks like a different time so maybe he walked past and ran past at different times.

There is a video somewhere of someone running, i remember seeing it early on in the case.

Destroying evidence and giving false information!! Hmm, now who kept turning up everywhere even though they weren't police etc.

Has anyone considered that the DNA supposedly from the murdered young woman could have been switched out to where no one who was ever near the island matches the samples?

Yes this is a concerning thought. Whilst plenty of things could and do appear to have been done to hamper the investigation this is the one thing that could make it practically impossible. Have to hope corruption did not spread this far

investigators Sunday seized three guitars from a shelter of Myanmar workers for examination

blink.png but they where not beaten to death with a guitar

ah get it...cunning new plan by the RTP to blame Pete Townsend for the deaths, as he used to smash guitars over things...thumbsup.gif

Two of the suspects raped and killed Witheridge while another one witnessed the murder," a chief investigator said.

how would you know this unless you were there or know someone who was there at the time ?

...and Pete's on the sex offenders register!!! mmmmm

Man says police beat him after he declines to be witness in Koh Tao murder cases

Tue, 30/09/2014 - 18:35 | by taweporn

A Thai man said he was beaten up by police after he turned down the police’ offer to give him reward money if he agreed to be a witness in the murder case of of the two British tourists in Thailand’s touristic island of Koh Tao, southern Surat Thani province, according to ASTV-Manager online.

The report says Pornprasit Sukdam, 37, on Tuesday complained with Kobchai Saowalak, kamnan of Koh Tao sub-district, and asked for protection.

Pornprasit said the police detained him on Monday 1.30pm. During the interrogation, the police investigators persuaded him to agree to pretend to have knowledge of the incident, Pornprasit said. The police allegedly offered him 700,000 baht (about 21,600 USD) reward and guaranteed that he has the witness status. However, since he was not involved with the crime and did not hold knowledge related to it, Pornprasit declined the police’s offer.

That made the police angry, he said. The police allegedly beat him up before released him on Monday 6.30pm.

He decided to tell this story to others since the police planned to interrogate him again on Tuesday and he feared to be beaten up again.

He added that he does not plan to pursue case against the police, but wants to assert his innocence. He is willing to cooperate with the police, but not by force.

Meanwhile, kamnan of Koh Tao sub-district urged the police not to use violence with the suspects and not to arrest a scapegoat.

Pornprasit is a taxi driver on Koh Tao and member of the Sun Service Football team. There was a football match held on the day of the murders. The team members are now the focus of the police investigators.

The bodies of Hannah Witheridge, 23, and David Miller, 24, were found with severe head wounds on September 15.

doesnt look guilty of anything in this video

just a kid walking

I think this "kid" is Montriwat Tuwichian, the son of the headman who according to the polica went to Bangkok the same morning the killings took place. His father provided a cctv footage with a time stamp that could easily have been faked.

The son was never tested for DNA . because he had an alibi . If I were the bangkok police I would go to his place and ask for a dna sample. Even if he refuses they should force him to do it.

DNA Mon, his brother, his sons and nephews. All of them and definitely those that were allegedly in Bangkok too, and don't let the local police touch it. The real perpetrators MUST be brought to justice for this truly evil crime. Koh Tao will not recover fully for years unless true justice is brought and seen. No-one will be fooled by a cover up or scapegoat this time.

for sure they are involved..had this crime been commited by a poor person he would have been given up to the police the next day..the island is so small and the everybody knows each others business that's its impossible to accept that the whole community has no knowledge of what happened...the police had it solved a week ago then took the bribe

http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/one-tourist-murder-suspect-now-arrested-another-run/

The police have arrested a suspect in the murder of two British tourists in Koh Tao and are still hunting for a second suspect who has escaped into Bangkok.

Eighth Region Police Command commissioner Pol Lt-Gen Panya Mamen identified the first suspect as Mon.

He is the brother of a village headman in Koh Tao.

He was arrested after evidence which police collected were examined and proved he was involved, he said.

He also said another suspect is also a son of that village headman. But he has already to Bangkok.

He said both suspects were captured by CCTV cameras and the police have gathered enough evidence to implicate them in the murders.

This is so ridiculous. PM are you watching?

Blatant suspicious behaviour by the police here - they should be locked up, or at the very least DNA tested by an independent body. I'm thinking this must be local police, would that be right? if so why are the (less in the family's pocket) police from Bangkok not in charge now? Is there still a big BKK police presence on the island?

If this was local police arrest them for trying to pervert the course of justice AND get them tested

If it was non local police arrest them for trying to pervert the course of justice and replace them with another force

And fair play and thank you to Pornprasit Sukdam for not playing this game of lies. The police involved are clearly corrupt and the rest of the world has witnessed that. They should not be allowed to continue to be involved with the investogation. What happened to the promise of no lies or scapegoats. Bullshit

This has to get picked up by the journalists with access to the real world.

It is incredible that the thai police, or whoever these guys are, would do this while everyone, including this taxi driver, knows the entire world is watching them,

it is either

1) the height of arrogance

2) the height of stupidity

3) the increasing desperation of the guilty

4) the greed and competition for the bribe

5) the weight of the crime will sink them all
