Who would have thought..... Food Court - Table Reservation Etiquette would be such a big concern. There are just so many thing I have to learn.

As a rule, Thais don't eat alone. One person minds the table while the others order food; one of the others may order something for the person waiting at the table.

When one is out alone with one's umbrella, one can ask the umbrella to get the food, or to mind the table.

Personally, I would not trust my umbrella to do either, and get my food, then sit at an empty seat, and strike up a conversation with the umbrella next to me. It's better if they've left their newspaper, though

I did suggest a blow up doll to be his pretend GF earlier on in the thread, would you believe this would be an acceptable alternative ?

I'd rather that than talking to some boring old umbrella

The food court.

I've seen people mention drinking beer in a Big C food court on here before, but I've never noticed it for sale in one.

Its a long way down from that ivory tower, hence why you might not of seen it

I prefer the beer tower to the ivory tower.

I prefer the beer tower to the ivory tower.

A fair point!
