Calling all motor enthusiasts.

Topic is probably very broad, but hoping to get some directions and advise.

Basically i am in the market for one of those small vehicle to be used ONLY to take my dogs out on daily basis.

I have 5 dogs so regular car is not an option, regular size pick up is also not an option as it is high.

Another major fact is i do not want to spend big money as it is ONLY for dog walks, so prices around 200 000 and under.

After many hours of headache, i have narrowed down my choices to those small things like

Daihatsu Atrai or HiJet,Midget or mini truck

An Import Suzuki Carry(imported from Japan, about half the size standard suzuki carry)

Nissan NV

DMF little truck, about 2-4 years old.

Most of this models are 10-14 years old and cost range 100 000- 200 000

How reliable are any of these?, in terms of spare parts and fixing or/and breaking down?

Anyone has experience in ownership of any of those and can comment on reliability?

I have noticed many cable company's, vets and delivery company's using the little Daihatsu Vans.

Most of this models are very economical 600cc-1100cc.

Hope to get some directions and advice

Thanks in advance

Km's showing 120 000 or there abouts.

The biggest problem you may have with these little trucks (excepting the Nissan NV) is that you may not fit behind the steering wheel. These trucks are, indeed, very small, hence this problem.

Personally; I would go for a small Nissan NV easy to service and they drive like a Porsche ! ! The other advantage is that the loading area is much lower to the ground, so with the tail-gate down, the dogs just have to "step-up" a little . . . . . . .

A motorcycle and utlity sidecar are a better choice. Cheaper and easy to park.

Use to have one of those, decided to upgrade to a car, with all the rain, my doggies still go out twice per day, but you are correct definitely a cheaper option
