Tonight about 6pm I was travelling East and saw the moon as a waning (left handed) thin crescent. 30 minutes later, I saw it again left sided but thicker than previously.

30 miutes after that when I got home the moon was nearly full with a bit cut off the right hand side!

What's the cosmic joker up to?

It's too bad you didn't know about it. I've seen just two in my life. Others occurred on cloudy nights, etc. If you had known you could have stopped and watched it.

Was hoping for a view to photograph it in Chiang Mai as the skies were pretty clear but too low on the horizon to see it. I have an android app on my phone called Star Chart and it automatically popped up an event to let me know about the eclipse in advance.

Don't know about that but you're clearly not very savvy regards worldwide events, or in deducing what such an occurrence would mean. Stone Age man and the Smurfs probably worked it out. tongue.png
