Reminder that photos posted here should be Thai related

Recommended Posts

Posted

I've noticed several photos being posted recently that have not been Thai related, that is photos outside of Thailand, so a reminder of the Posting images - Guidelines

3. All photographs posted must be your own.
4. All photographs should be Thailand related

There are of course exceptions such as examples necessary to make a point in the equipment forum or for comparative purposes or such as 'how did they do this' type of photos.

Thanks for your understanding.

I'm popping this back up as a reminder. Photos that are not within the scope in my OP will be removed. Exception are shown in post 1 & 2.

2nd item: Please limit the number of photos to 1 or 2 per topic per day. The problem is photo flooding, that is 5/6/more posted by a member consecutively in a topic pushes other member's photos off the page and not fair to them to have their effort in effect disappear. I don't want to curtail posting of images but I need to find a happy middle ground that is fair to all members.

3rd item: Humor in commenting on a post can sometimes be misconstrued so consider if it may be insulting to the poster or the image when commenting.

Thanks for listening. wink.png

^^ +1.

I must admit that photos with some commentary are more appealing to me, because it helps to understand why the photo was taken (but I don't want to denigrate anyone who has not commented on their photo). Location is also very important to me, - more than once I have PM'd someone to ask where a photo was taken, in the hope that I might be able to visit that location. A while back, Harrry had asked us all if we could add locations to photos, but it seems to have slipped a bit. I'll try to always add a location in future! wink.png

Yes, we have the "World Wide" thread for non Thai images! wink.png

I think more people should say where their images where taken in Thailand! whistling.gif

Not being sarcastic but I think people might like to say WHY their images were taken, what they saw, what appealed to them and what does it convey. A lot of other forums I visit have this and at times I'm drawn more into the images with this insight.

Just a thought.

Yep I agree, and I don't think it's a sarcastic suggestion ....generally as said I do usually try to say where a photo is taken, but not necessarily why...

That is sometimes a bit harder...The image of the red umbrella for example which seems to have caused a bit of a stir, w00t.gif I took because of the sun beaming down and it just caught my eye, as being interesting, obviously it did not appeal to all...tongue.pngfacepalm.gif

The "why" part nowadays (speaking for myself at least) I find I am on the look out for images that might fit somewhere in this forum and no other reason, really ..... I would not usually take a pic of say people on their bikes etc... And taking that bike topic or say the motorbike topic, I think sometimes when a topic is started... it seems like a good idea at the time... but to say start two topics say with people and their bike and another just bikes, would just get too many headings / topics going and get overly confusing or forgotten! .... there are quite a few topics like that... whistling.gif

Let's face it this is generally a very good part of TV as is Farm Photos section, and I think everyone enjoys participating in.... occasionally an "off the cuff remark" backfires and offends... well that is part of life... we just need to move on!

So let's just move on and get along ! ... as Rodney King once said!!! wink.png... thumbsup.gif
