webfact
Park Officials Alarmed By 'Henchmen's Campsite'By Khaosod EnglishA top official at Lam Nam Nan National Park says heavily-armed henchmen and drug dealers have been camping in the park's forest. 21 Oct 2014.UTTARADIT — A top official at Lam Nam Nan National Park has urged Thai authorities to drive away the heavily-armed henchmen and drug dealers who are camping in the park.Nawakrit Hengkratok, the head of the park's rangers, said today that the criminals were recently seen camping in a dense part of the park's forest."They are people who are wanted by the authorities on serious charges. Some of them are fleeing from their arrest warrants," Nawakrit said. "They include hitmen and group of drug dealers."Hitmen are relatively easy to find in Thailand, thanks to the large number of firearms circulating in the black market and poor law enforcement generally. These 'hired guns' operate in different organisations that offer assassination services to clients with enough money and influence. The park official explained that his rangers were no match against these fugitives."They are well-armed and combat-efficient. They are willing to use force against law enforcement," he said.Full story: http://www.khaosodenglish.com/detail.php?newsid=1413882316 -- Khaosod English 2014-10-
Popular Post 15Peter20
The National Hitmen's Association was rumbled on their annual camping trip. Popular Post chainarong
Well why run and tell it to the media, you must have a mobile, everyone else has , so give the area RTP commander and the top brass in BKK a call and a 4 star in Phitsanulok (protect your back) doing what you have done has now alerted the henchmen, amateurs messing in this field could prove dangerous.

I would have thought "Outlaws" to be more appropriate... But I think these outlaws do not rob from the rich and give to the poor, just a bunch of "robbing hoods". Best send in the army to clear them out.
slapout
Why not alert the authorities (army, police, etc) if you and your rangers are not up to the task of removing said henchmen, hitmen etc? Doubt that the media will want to join in the proposed sweep to clear the undesirable element from the park. Has the chain of command ever been approached as a way of expressing needs/requirements to do a job etc.? Or is this the subtle way of warning the undesirables that they need t5o move camp as they are under watchful eyes?

The miltary government is too busy telling people how to dress, what to eat and what to do. Fighting crime will just have to wait.
HiSoLowSoNoSo
Do they still charge foreigners ten times more than the Hitmen and group of drug dealers to visit this national park?

Really? What is with these idiots? Do we have to run keystone kops again? Maybe we could try to surprise a criminal just once and how that goes. Just sayin'. Could work......wow. rametindallas
As usual, Thai news stories create more questions than answers. 1) How do they know they are 'henchmen'? 2) Is there some kind of 'henchman' organization for the 'henchmen' to know where to congregate? 3) It it a 'henchman' retreat or convention? 4) Has law enforcement been notified and, if so, what is their intention/response? This is one of the crazier stories I have read in Thai media.
