Disc brakes are far better than drum brakes, simple.and the abs might work then!

The ABS works just fine with drums, and the handbrake can actually hold the weight of the loaded car with rear drums too. There's a reason pickups and these SUV's based on them have drums at the rear.

Well my abs is total crap, the reason they use them is cheap cheap cheap and nothing else, how can abs work with drum brakes? and they handbrake if designed correctly is far better with discs, my ford galaxy in the uk had superb all round discs and the abs was fantastic, the pajero abs is rubbish the rears lock and do not listen to the abs at all.

Sounds like you drove a dud mate.

My PJS ABS work fine with no lock up of rear drums.

Maybe the particular PJS you mention has a brake problem.

I second that

Most racers hate ABS - are you sure you didn't pull the fuse? tongue.png

In any case, as others have noted you have a problem in your PJS. It has multi channel ABS, so the only reason it's locking up in the rear is because you've got a bad sensor, or bad brakes.

I had plenty of emergency stops in our old PJS, some from speeds I won't mention here. I even had the fronts completely fade to practically nothing, with only the rear drums pulling me up. Never had them lock up.

Did I read that pjs are offering 0% finance at moment? Is this on all models or just base?

I will go to dealer and ask but would rather find out what I can first.

Cheers

Yep, 0% for 48 months with 25% down. You might want to wait until the end of the month for the motor show deals though - the expectation is they'll get even better.

Thanks again IMHO.

Yes I will wait until the car show, see what they have available then.
