Transferring Stamp to new Passport upon exit at Suvarnabhumi

Featured Replies

Hoping for some advice. I had to get a UK emergency passport recently but I am now in possession of my new full UK passport. I'm having to go home due to a family emergency at short notice. Is it possible to get my passport stamp transferred over to my new passport at Suvarnabhumi upon exiting Thailand without having to go up to immigration in BKK?

I assume it is. Just hoping for someone to confirm for me. Thanks.

No, if you are on an extension of stay that has to be done at your local immigration office.

If you can, that would be the way to do it. If you can't they might stamp you out on the new passport and tell you to visit your local immigration office to tranfer stamps when you return. But can't guarantee they will do allow it.

How are people able to clear 10+ year overstays at the airport on the way out if the airport does not "transfer" or stamp across passports. I know of no country that issues 10+ year passports. I would expect a person going to immigration to get stamps transferred over would risk arrest....

Not true as I had my stamp transferred from my old passport (ruined in the washing machine) to my new passport at Immigration with no issues whatsoever,

The only thing she asked was where was my last point of entry which was Ranong, she rang Ranong immigration to confirm I had passed through there

The OP does not mention that he is on a overstay so he will have no issues
